Engineering Major Has Many Fields Of Study

Engineering is a broad field with many different majors to choose from. Here are some of the most sought-after and highest-paid engineering majors. Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, and Architectural Engineering.

As you can see from the degrees of some of the wealthiest people in the world the fields of study range from Civil Engineering to Computer Engineering. There isn’t one specific degree that stands out. Success can come from any of these degrees. Of course, it’s more than just the engineering degree that has created these millionaires and billionaires.

Traits Of The Rich

They undoubtedly share many other similar characteristics that drove their success and allowed them to become top earners. However, the degree is the stepping stone on their path to fortune. The degree is what they have in common. Fortunately, it’s a degree that you can have too. Perhaps, it could be your stepping stone to becoming rich too.

As I mentioned in, The Top 5 In-Demand College Degrees in 2023, almost all STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) majors are consistently at or near the top of the list of majors that make the most money. For this reason, STEM subjects are a great choice as they are solid majors that are employable and high earning.

Now that you know the college major that creates the most millionaires and billionaires, you can join their club.

Second Place

Are you curious as to what degree came in second place? Many millionaires and billionaires hold MBAs. MBA stands for Master of Business Administration. Like engineering, there are many fields of study.

When I was in graduate school, working on my MBA, many of my fellow classmates had undergrad degrees in engineering. I asked many of these classmates why they decided to pursue a master’s program in business rather than engineering. Most students responded the same way. They were already successful in their careers but to move up within their current field to become managers and executives they needed two things. First, they needed a higher degree than everyone else because all their peers also held bachelor’s degrees in engineering. Second, they needed to understand the workings of a business, including basic managerial, accounting, and leadership skills which are the core focus of MBA Programs. Therefore, for these professionals, having both degrees would create double the opportunities and that is where the ultimate success lies.
